DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss this very special show of smaller paintings\, photographs\, and more – all 12 inches by 12 inches and smaller! Featuring work by some of your favorite artists\, you’ll find oil paintings\, acrylics\, mixed media\, and watercolor – most of which fit easily into a suitcase or shipping envelope. These little beauties are perfect for that small corner or as a memento of a fabulous trip to the beach! The opening reception is Friday\, June 14 from 5 – 7 p.m. Come by to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments with us. SUMMARY:Spotlight Rich Flanegan
DESCRIPTION:Oil painter Rich Flanegan is the Spotlight Artist at the gallery from July 15 – Sept. 15. Best known for his detailed beachscapes and coastal oil paintings\, Rich says\, “I try to capture the mood of the scene and moment in time that made an impression on me. Somethings it’s the force of the surge\, the cloud formation\, the wind\, the light playing on the water or the sand. I focus on the light on and shadow\, the color and values\, and the small details of the scene that impressed me.” Rich has earned many awards including the 2017\, 2019\, and 2023 Lee Barrett People’s Choice and First Place awards (2019 and 2020) at the Arts Council of Moore County Fine Arts Festival. Rich and his wife\, stained glass artist Diane Flanegan\, live in Moore County\, NC. Years ago they lived at the Jersey Shore when they owned an art gallery and provided art services to the Cape May community. \nShown: Detail from The Beach In Winter\, oil by Rich Flanegan

DESCRIPTION:Join us for another evening of fine tunes and good company in the artistic atmosphere you can only experience here at Sunset River Gallery. AfterHours is a local band of seasoned jazz musicians. The popular ensemble brings their musical stylings to the gallery for two hours of jazz standards and the Great American Songbook.
