Call for wait list or information about additional classes. \nWorkshop: Concepts of Abstract \nInstructor Samantha Spalti \nSaturday\, Feb. 24 – Sunday\, Feb. 25\, 2024\, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. \nClass limited to 8 students. $95\, non-refundable \nMore than just slapping paint on a canvas\, abstract (non-representational) art is about ideas and feelings. In this two-day workshop\, we will explore how to express those ideas and feelings without representation. We will be dealing with the “why” of painting\, not the “what.” The “how” is then determined by that “why.” \nDay One \nExploration through dialogue\, walking the gallery and discussion\, how some of our artists convey ideas. Bring an image of an abstract work that speaks to you.  \nDay Two \nExploration will include putting paint to canvas. DESCRIPTION:Author Henry Hack is back with his latest in the Danny Boyland series\, Broken Windows. A veteran NYPD homicide detective must choose between his sworn duty to arrest murderers and his desire to finally see law and order restored to his beloved city. The developing evidence points to a group of retired law enforcement personnel as the likely perpetrators who claim they are the last best hope to restore law and order to the lawless city. Danny is now faced with an age-old dilemma – murderers are murderers and should be brought to justice\, or does the end justify the means? \nHenry Hack served 22 years in the Nassau County\, NY Police Department\, including ten years in the Police Laboratory where he was qualified as an expert witness in several forensic fields including blood\, narcotics\, and trace evidence.
