DESCRIPTION:Techniques & Fundamentals of Acrylic Painting \n\n\nThere are two sessions of this class–morning and afternoon\, Mondays\, Jan. 12 – March 2\, The morning class will be held from 10 a.m. – 12:30 pm; Afternoon session is from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. This painting class is open to acrylic and oil painters of all skill levels. I will be sharing my expertise in acrylics\, as well as layout techniques\, composition\, value\, and color theory. Students will have the opportunity to work with photo references and are encouraged to explore their own artistic expression. The curriculum will start with a review of the fundamentals\, including creating essential tools such as a color wheel and value scale. We will also delve into composition through thumbnail sketches and study color harmony. Engaging classroom critiques will be a regular part of the learning process. Overall\, this class aims to provide a comprehensive and enriching experience for painters looking to enhance their skills and develop their personal style. DESCRIPTION:Happy Accident Workshop with Samantha: How to Work with Your Intuition\, \nSaturday\,  Jan. 17  & Sunday\, Jan. 18\, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with a break (Bring lunch / snacks). $75 non-refundable. Bring your own supplies. \nIn this workshop we will practice working with our intuition and silencing our inner critics to create expressive art. Starting with exercises to help get the hand moving and the mind quiet\, we will work through the steps to tap into our intuition. The goal of this workshop (in addition to creating a couple pieces of wonderfully brave art!) is to learn to trust your intuition. \nMaterials list: \n\nTwo canvases (or paper\, board\, canvas board – any of these are welcome) in the 12×16 to 16×20 range\,\nPaints and brushes – whatever medium you are most comfortable with\, but acrylics allow for quick layering\nMulti-media also welcomed – paper\, photos\, found objects\, etc\nA notebook or journal for note taking\n\nBefore the class\, think about some words or a quote that have meaning to you. They could be art related\, personal\, it doesn’t matter. You don’t even need to understand what the draw to them is. We’ll also be taking some time in class to work through some\, if you absolutely can’t come up with any beforehand. \nWe will supply: paper towels\, cups\, water\, and two days of fun! \nSign up here!
