DESCRIPTION:Techniques & Fundamentals of Acrylic Painting \nThis painting class is open to acrylic and oil painters of all skill levels. I will be sharing my expertise in acrylics\, as well as layout techniques\, composition\, value\, and color theory. Students will have the opportunity to work with photo references and are encouraged to explore their own artistic expression. The curriculum will start with a review of the fundamentals\, including creating essential tools such as a color wheel and value scale. We will also delve into composition through thumbnail sketches and study color harmony. Engaging classroom critiques will be a regular part of the learning process. SUMMARY:Unstick Your Brain Part 2 - So You Want to be a Painter
DESCRIPTION:Saturday October 18\, 11am – 3pm\, with a break (bring snacks).\n\nInstructor Samantha Spalti. This is a one day (4-hour) workshop about using the elements and principles of art and basic color theory to create art. This is an exploratory workshop; we will be painting studies and will not be leaving with finished work. (Not necessary to have attended Part One!)$45\, non-refundable\n\nMaterials. Paper\, water\, cups\, and paper towels will be supplied. Bring your own paints and brushes\, whatever medium you are most comfortable with\, but make sure you have some variation of a red\, yellow\, and blue\, a white and an ochre.
