AfterHours is a local band of seasoned musicians. The popular ensemble will bring their musical stylings to the gallery for two hours of standards and audience favorites. Sax player Jeff Norris performed with various musical groups in the Philadelphia area before relocating to Sunset Beach. Cip Garcia played rhythm guitar in a Chicago jazz duo. Drummer Mark St. Clair began his musical education in the Washington DC area. After playing for some time with a country band, he discovered an interest in jazz. Recently joining the band are Bobbi Bernstein on keyboard, Bill Selway on bass, and vocalist Brian Hughes.
Jazz Night is normally held from 5 to 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. Mark your calendars and plan to stop by! We are once again honored to host the Waterway Art Association’s Spring Show and Sale, which will be at the gallery from Monday, April 24 through Saturday, April 29. A public reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, April 28 from 5 – 7 p.m. Please come by to support this local art group and their scholarship raffle. Third in the Mark Thurman series, Stability Island begins with an ordinary ER shift for orthopedic surgeon Mark Thurman, until he finds a mysterious sphere that defies gravity. His discovery throws him into a dangerous world of murder and espionage. Kelso is a practicing orthopedic surgeon who also writes thrillers based on current innovations in medicine and science. Coffee With the Authors. This month, author Teri M. Brown will be here talking about her latest novel, An Enemy LikE Me. Set during World War II, the book explores the concepts of xenophobia, intrafamily dynamics, and the recognition that war is not won and lost by nations, but by ordinary men and women and the families who support them.Brown will also discuss her debut novel, the award-winnning Sunflowers Beneath the Snow, a timely story set in 1970s Ukraine and following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the 1990s.Coffee With the Authors is a free event, but seating is limited. Here in the Carolinas, Summer means Beach and our gallery visitors can’t get enough, so this exhibit is all about heading to the beach on a hot summer day – the crowds, the dunes, the salt air. Come on by to get your beach fix.The group show features work by Connie Winters, Carol Iglesias, Rachel Sunnell, Sharon C. Jones, Nancy Hughes Miller, Ortrud Tyler, Vicki Neilon, Janet Sessoms, William West and Linda Karaskevicus.

The popular ensemble will bring their musical stylings to the gallery for two hours of standards and audience favorites. Sax player Jeff Norris performed with various musical groups in the Philadelphia area before relocating to Sunset Beach. Cip Garcia began studying guitar in high school and then played rhythm guitar in a Chicago jazz duo. Also on guitar is Jim Pope who played bass for the Raleigh group Montage and later for the Vintage Accents jazz group. Drummer Mark St. Clair began his musical education in the Washington DC area during high school. After playing for some time with a country band, he discovered an interest in jazz.
