Set during World War II, the book explores the concepts of xenophobia, intrafamily dynamics, and the recognition that war is not won and lost by nations, but by ordinary men and women and the families who support them.Brown will also discuss her debut novel, the award-winnning Sunflowers Beneath the Snow, a timely story set in 1970s Ukraine and following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the 1990s.Coffee With the Authors is a free event, but seating is limited.
