Call For Artists

This is a heads-up to North and South Carolina artists. We have two fun (and insightful) shows coming up. Selfie (Jan 6 – Feb. 3, 2024) is a juried 2D art exhibition that explores the psychology of selfies. We are seeking a range of first person photos, paintings, drawings, and mixed media. Entry deadline for Selfie is Dec. 24.

We are also seeking submissions to Girl Power! (Feb. 10 – Mar. 6, 2024), a juried 2D and 3D show that explores the multifaceted dimensions of what it means to identify as a woman today. Open to all genders. Entry deadline for Girl Power! is Jan. 31, 2024. Details – including application information – are posted below. We can’t wait to hear from you! Details and application links for both are posted below.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent by Jan 1st, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
This show is open to all artists age 18 and over in South and North Carolina, but all art must be hand delivered. Shipped pieces will not be accepted for this show. Click here for Selfie application.

Coffee With the Authors – Henry Hack

Author Henry Hack is back with his latest in the Danny Boyland series, Broken Windows. A veteran NYPD homicide detective must choose between his sworn duty to arrest murderers and his desire to finally see law and order restored to his beloved city. The developing evidence points to a group of retired law enforcement personnel as the likely perpetrators who claim they are the last best hope to restore law and order to the lawless city. Danny is now faced with an age-old dilemma – murderers are murderers and should be brought to justice, or does the end justify the means?

Henry Hack served 22 years in the Nassau County, NY Police Department, including ten years in the Police Laboratory where he was qualified as an expert witness in several forensic fields including blood, narcotics, and trace evidence. He was the Lab’s commanding officer for three years and also commanded the Eighth Precinct in the Patrol Division.

Join us for a great presentation and discussion (and we can’t wait to hear about The Messenger, Henry’s upcoming baseball/football/science fantasy novel due out later in October). Coffee With the Authors is a free event, but seating is limited so please R.S.V.P. to the gallery at 910.575.5999. Coffee, tea and breakfast treats will be served.
